About

counseling servicesOriginally from a rural community in Southwest Oklahoma, I learned the value of hard work while working on the farm and training in sports. My hard work paid off when I earned a scholarship to play softball at Oklahoma State University. After studying for four years as a student athlete, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science.

Following my undergraduate studies at OSU, I moved to the Dallas area where I completed my Master’s degree in Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. As a graduate student, I blended my passion for sports and marriage and family counseling by researching connections between physical exercise, family relationships, and mental health. I completed one year of couple and family therapy internship training at the UTSW Family Studies Center, and now practice privately as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Frisco, TX.

I specialize in helping current, former, or prospective athletes navigate complex relational, physical, and mental issues that are common among the elite athlete's experience; the emotional experience of competing in sports' and navigating life after sports. I work with clients from a systemic perspective, considering factors of biology, psychology, and one's relationship/social dynamics as important aspects of the treatment process and as vital parts to my clients as a whole.
